Lead poisoning silently mauls Chicago

My former Daily News colleague Megan Cottrell, who writes a great blog on ChicagoNow, reported on the scarily prevalent problem of lead poisoning in public housing. An aging housing stock, scofflaw landlords and a general lack of education puts residents - and especially their young children - at risk of damaging their health by ingesting lead.

Young children are most likely to incur developmental damage from lead, which resides in old paint, and can float around in dust particles.
